Why use a Face Mask?

Face masks are the perfect skin care treatment to help you with your skin care concerns. The right face mask can help hydrate skin, remove excess oils and help improve the appearance of your pores. They’re also an excellent way to help pull out impurities. Using a face mask is a commitment to bettering your skin. When you apply a mask, you’re taking time to focus on the health of your complexion with a product that addresses a particular concern. Whether it’s breakout control, brightening, or anti-ageing, there are tons of benefits to using a face mask.

And don’t forget that taking some Me Time… is the perfect opportunity for selfcare. It is your spa like pampering experience right at home. Apply a mask and take the time while you wait to do what soothes you, whether it’s listening to your favourite music, taking a bath or just allowing yourself to be still and silent.

When to Use?

Face Masks are wonderful products to add into your skin care routine. Because they may deeply detoxify and/or exfoliate, you don’t need to use one everyday. Use 1-2 times weekly for dry skin, and 2-3 times weekly for oily skin. Apply in the evening, after cleansing and toning. Usually you leave a mask on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing with warm water and patting dry. Follow with an evening serum or night treatment and an eye cream.

Which One to Use?

Face masks are an excellent way to maintain beautiful skin, but deciding which one to use—or forking out your savings to get a facial—can often stop you from investing in one. However, this is not a product you want to skip… but which one should you be using?

Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, a well-formulated rehydrating or moisturising mask can be a helpful addition to your skincare routine. You want a non-drawing mask, to rejuvenate and protect your skin rather than dry it out or inflame it with too much scrubbing. If you use a clay mask, instead of mixing it with water, mix it with honey instead. This will prevent your mask going dry and tight. A face scrub is also helpful it works to get rid of any flaky dead skin. Look for masks containing ingredients such as mild Pink & White Clays, Honey, Hyaluronic Acid, Fruit extracts and Coconut for their moisturising properties.
